Lembach Austria

We are fortunate to have wonderful friends in special places. Our last trip Family Knapp spoiled us rotten when we descended upon them in their sweet town of Lembach, outside Linz Austria. Tina was one of our terrific aupairs and it feels as if our families have become quite close. Lembach is a picturesque small town surrounded by farms The Knapps have a large family and many friends. In the picture, Tina's father, Alois, is feeding their deer. We visited Martin, who let all the kids drive the huge fancy tractor, milk cows, nurse calves and play with the farm animals. Many people buy their milk here and their kids are so healthy as they really eat "farm to table". Then their cousin Michael took us around in a carriage pulled by these beautiful white Lipizzaner horses. In Lipica, (now Slovenia) they have been breeding the famous Lipizzaner horses since 1580 for the world's oldest horse race.

It was great to see our kids in turn help take care of Tina's pretty daughter, Mia. When Tina's loving parents, Alois and Nelly, cook, it is like being in the movie "like water for chocolate" around the table,as everyone relishes the love they put into every incredibly delectible dish they make. Then they packed us a care package of dinner for our train ride back home. We feel very special to have been so totally spoiled.
